Types of Massage
Manta Massage offers the following types of massage
Swedish: The most common type of massage, to relax and energize you. Uses a system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the outer layers of the muscles. Used primarily for full body session. Promotes general relaxation, improves circulation and range of motion, and relieves muscle tension.
Firm Swedish: Similar to Swedish, but with a firmer touch.
Joint Mobility: Through stetching, isometric, and muscle release techniques, Joint Mobility Massage helps to increase the body’s ability to function within normal parameters.
Deep Tissue: For muscle damage from an injury, such as whiplash or back strain.Releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either by following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons, and fascia. It focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue.
Myofascial: Sustained pressure and movement is applied into the system of connective tissue surrounding the muscles in order to eliminate restrictions.
Sports: Sports massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance , to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. The main purpose of sports massage therapy is to alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity
Medical: Medical massage is outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem(s) the patient presents with a diagnosis and are administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment. It is also known as clinical massage or treatment massage.
